look like turkey tail
that's what they look like to me too. I believe they are "edible but not palatable"

there are lots of different turkey tails from what I see and read. they seem to come in unlimited colors.  they are primarily medicinally used.

don't know what that shroom is Raquettedacker.  I stay away from the toadstool shaped ones.  im not anywhere near educated enough to mess with them. imo

do a spore print and some research on the net.  kinda fun

some fresh puffballs popped up.  picked 3 nice solid kickball size ones.  5 more left there to give off spores.

Same here I picked three puffballs and made eight small pizza crusts. Going to make another pizza tomorrow and I'm freezing the others. Hope they freeze ok and don't get mushy. Later Hex

Fixed a nice skillet full with some fresh fish and they were very good. First I've had for several years. If I come across anymore I don't think ill just walk by without picking those that are softball size.
