3 inches now in 3 months. Should increase to 1.5 inches per month once planted into the outside pond. Unfortunately will have to feed the females to my bass as the customer that bought 600 pounds of rainbows from me last year prefers rainbows as they are "prettier."  Apparently they haven't seen a fully colored fall brown especially the males.

I'm hoping to sex the them by the shape of the anal fins before they go into the pond. I may still try to find another customer for the live brown trout.

They are running up into the 4 inch range now. I had three jumpers on the floor today. Went from 3 1/2 to 4 1/4 inches. Decided it was time to stretch netting over the tank to keep them in.

Here's the 4 1/4 inch brown after he had been on the floor for a while. Note the red spots. I haven't seen red spots this prominent on browns I have raised in the past. Wondering if my egg supplier has changed strains or crossed with another strain. Or I am using a different feed supplier so there could be something in the diet.

Several years ago I had a small pike in my garden pond. More than once I found him flopping in the yard. I thought maybe a cat or bird was getting him. I finally caught him trying to jump up the waterfall and badly miss. Eventually he jumped out when I wasn't around and sun baked himself.

I had a bullhead in a large tank in the basement that would jump out.
It was always dry when I found it and tossed it back into the tank.
No telling how long it had laid on the cement floor till I did so.
It would always still be alive.
I finally took it to the local pond and released it.
I was always amazed at how it could live out of the water.

I had this happen with a tilapia. It's said in aquaculture they are so hardy you can raise then in gasoline.

Better picture of a brown that gill netted itself in the surface netting to keep the trout from jumping out of the tank. This one was fairly fresh only dead for about an hour.
