nothing wrong with spitting some redman golden blend in a lake.  when icefishing, in order to show my friends how the vex works, i'd spit my chew in the hole, and watch it sink to the bottom on the vex.

it depends on what flavor and how strong it is. most brands will indeed attract fish. its just like if you eat something salty then kiss the lure it will attract fish. if u ate something that fish do not like and kissed the lure it would turn fish off. its all a mater of what kind it is

I like takin a wad of redman and mixing it with some double bubble or big league chew gum. Also cherry skoal, I havent noticed any difference on the fishing but im sure it doesnt hurt.

I have been using lakes and streams as spitoons for a long mofoin time and if the fish are biting I say its because the Kodiack turned them on. When the fish aren't biting I say I should have swallowed, maybe that would have turned them on.

 a guy once told me chewing tobacco is good for ice fishing. you dont use it as bait . just toss some inthe hole the fish don't swallow it but you can net them when the come up to spit  might work old ken

 I'm a Copenhagen kind of guy and when fishing I always spit on my lures for a scent killer. Don't know if it does any good  but I catch my share of fish so I have to believe it doesn't hurt.

 As far as showing off the vexilar while ice fishing, drop a beer can tab down the hole. You can watch it all the way down to the bottom, and the flash given off sometimes fires up the fish.
