ont walleye

Was at minaki for 5 days and clearwater for 2 last week.
Again fishing was fantastic in big sand. We found lots of walleyes on the reefs in the 10 - 25 mark. Leeches and worms out did live minnows.
Long lining was also a good producer for others. We didn't bother
In minaki not many south of the border fisherman coming up. Gas and strong dollar with their reduced limit must be keeping them away.
Fishing was good at minaki but found lake of the woods a little better.

never can have too much eye's for dinner!
Was a great vacation and I can't stress enough how nice it is that our friends to the south are staying away at least from Minaki.
Usually no matter how far you try to get away from the fishing mob, they aways find away to crowd on a reef with ya
Not that I don't mind sharing a spot , but there's always seems to be more jerks then not!
As a note this is the best I've seen Minaki for the last 5 years.
With the improved slot size , reduced american limit, stabalized water levels that amazing fishery is looking like it's coming back strong.
Lots of slot sized and good chances for some real nice fish .
