Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it.

was an interesting link, I`m more intersted in how stretch affects strength. Such as after it stretches how much easier will it break, or if it does not stretch will it be more prone to snap if a fish or fisherperson gives it a sharp jerk. Any thoughts ??

Yeah, and what about fatigue and elasticity? :-\ How does repeated stretching affect line? ??? Does line return to original length and strenth afetr stretching? ???

Wow, you guys are tough to please. It was just basic tests run by some guy independant of the big companies. The information provided was really more than enough for me. If I needed more information than he provided, I would do all the appropriate tests I wanted myself. I believe the point he was trying to make is the fact that advertising doesn't always match results. Just because a company says it has zero stretch or has more stretch, doesn't mean it is true. Well, a line may have less stretch, but it could just be less stretch than my gut. :P

eww!!! mike thats bad..

what got me was the stretch on the florocarbon line. some thing marketed as low to no stretch. funny to see the stretch in braid though..

Good and bad i rock solidly set the hook on a four pound largie with a St. Croix flipping stick and the rod literally exploded into several pieces with a sound like a gun going off. My partner jumped for cover but I did manage to hand line the fish in.
