Howdy all,

The state launch on Skinny is open.

Otisco Lake Marina has a couple of pieces of dock in, so launching there is possible also.

No fishing to report. Perhaps next w/e.

Muskie,

Near the south end Ryfun's rents small 12-14 footers w/ outboards. I think they may also have a pontoon available. I dont know what the rates are. I'll see if I can get a phone # for you.

I'm guessing you are interested in the Tiger Muskies. The reports I have heard aren't that good, although there was a 20+ pouunder taken during an ice fishing derby this year.

Are you planning a trip ?  I'm  5 miles from the lake, perhaps we could hook up. I have an 18 Starcraft sitting in the driveway.

Good Luck- Rusty

I have a friend who for some time has wanted me to give him some ideas for landscaping his camp on Otisco. I may have to take him up on the request this year. (Although it will take a week at the camp for me to get a feeling for what he should do with it). And I will have to look at the view of the camp fromthe water. Then, while on the water, might as well drop in a line or two . . .

. . . sounds like the makings of a week long fishing trip,  er, I mean a week of work.   :)

Reel,

Do it b4 the end of June or after labor day unless you are planning to do your water based surveying at night.

During the summer months the lake is overtaken by recreational boaters and PWCs.  Usually the traffic doesn't start untill 10 am, after that, its time to move to Owasco.

Also, the floating weeds during the summer all but rule out trolling.

The fishing can be good, just gotta know what you are in for.

FYI, we iced five from 22-28.5" the day of the derby, all above The Narrows.  Dunno exactly where the legal fish came from.
