I'm trying to refine my downrigger fishing for lake trout and keep hearing guys talking about peanuts. What the heck are peanuts? Are they a specific name for a lure or just another name for flatfish, or rapalas or something?
Around here on Lake Ontario they run the wobble trolls (peanuts ) behind cowbell rigs.
The wobble trolls come in various sizes too. There is another company out there that produces a similiar
version of the wobble troll but it escapes me at the moment.

These are also some lures from the (peanut family)....these are called peanut flys.
We run them behind dodgers and or flashers for lakers in the Finger Lakes.
At around $4.00 a pop .......I tie my own
