Smallmouth Bass Report from Wallum lake (photo)

I made it up to Wallum Sunday........ sunday ! sunday ! sunday !

Water temps were favorable. 54-58 degrees
Wind was fairly light coming from the south west.
So far, so good. Could of used a little more sun to help in finding beds.

We managed to catch 7 Smallies and missed about 3 or 4 other fish.
Most of them came from staging fish on the 7-12 foot drops. All males.

There was a tourney going on , so the fish were a little spooked.
All in all a great day on the water.
Here is a sample of what was caught............ 8)

Great report BMS!

I'm sure we can thank Mass for those bronze backs - gorgeous fish!  Way to go.

The ramp on the R.I. side is blocked.
We put in on the Mass. side.
All the fish, according to my calulations, were caught in R.I.
Nice  bronze backs, No greenies !

^ I'll bet some guys will really appreciate that info!  Very kind of you BM! Your the best my friend.      Although you got them on the RI side it doesn't mean they didn't swim over - you know all RI cares about are those little Trout. Although you got a few nice ones this year! Must be that new food they started a few years back.

Hi BMS....I live right off Pleasant View Ave. I go to Waterman's lake quite a bit. I have a silver & red skeeter. Would love to fish Walum lake with you some time, as I can never find those smallies there. Sorry to post this here, but it wouldn't let me click on your profile to send a PM....maybe cause I just joined the board...I dunno. GREAT pics btw!

So I went to Wallum Lake last night, started fishing around 5:45 until about 9pm. Had a few hits, and lost a couple, but couldn't land anything. I was really hoping I could catch my first smallie, but I guess I just don't know the lake well enough. I fished the RI end, up by the hospital where all the huge rocks are thinking it looked like prime real estate for smallies. I threw tubes, sweet beavers, senkos, spinnerbaits, carolina rigged lizards, jigging/casting spoons, and football jigs. I had the most action on the carolina rig lizard. The bugs were really bad even with bug spray, and a couple of those portable butane mosquito things otherwise I might have stayed longer.
