Took a walk about today for the up and coming season. I looked at some spots.


The eye took a hit in the Flood. The spot I liked to fish is all changed. all the rock that would hold fish had been washed away.

         After a hot day....that water looks awesome Frank.. Hope it starts raining soon or that might be all we get on labor day weekend...... brief shower yesterday and none today with rain all over the state again , did here thunder and noticed an islolated but intense storm over Tug hill today.. according to the under radar it was hitting the upper reaches of the mad river and south branch near north osceola...take what we can get at this point....

I have a funny feeling that we are heading to a low water situation.. My spot in the eye is now gone!! all slate rock now and all the holding rocks are gone.

looks like you'll be 200 yds upstream with me and Ht.  Those fish will still pause there a little I bet frank not like they used to but they will slow up and rest for a few by the bank after those rollers

It looks good just above where I stand, nice pocket now but you can only fish 6 guys there so we'll have to get the gang there!!

  Yes they did..not drained though, just kept it at a low level to re pour parts of it, that actually kept the River reasonably high, as everytime the water got close to the work scafolds, they dumped water... I think that was 2006...

06 could be the year i remember as my buddy still had the camp at cedar pines. i remember driving past it when it looked like that and couldnt believe it. would of been a great time to walk and learn the res, and find LOTS of gear.

i  think it  was  05 or  06  when they  droped  that  water  and    it left   pockets  fish  got trapped  people  were  fishing  them or netting  them , they  would  have  died  anyways
