Good story, they did move slow in 98, we tracked them from lower black to the papermill, after 3 days of a hook up on almost every cast we got bored... hmmmm..August of 99? If I closed the Hotel...what kind of shape was I in? I bet if you stopped by I might remember....
The King run 2 years ago on Labor day weekend, they made it from the lower black too the papermill in one day and were at the Trestle pool Monday morning.. River was 750cfs though so about 10 miles in 2 days..now Coho's can do the River in one day. they are rockets if the mood is right.. Just checked the hatchery, bad light, seen about 15 big browns, 1 fish could have been a king, but not sure...
Yup shane, I hit Dem in dsr the first day ; next day they were gone; went to tail of black with many runniing still. Later that afternoon ballfoeld was thick. Third day ball field was still thick right until until we left. Hooking up every cast is an understatement...Is anyone in good shape at closing time? Lmao.....we actually butted heads a bit at first when talking fishingbut soon after came to terms... I remeber seeing your 80s steelhead album...I'll have to stop by sometime. Thanks
I wouldn't be surprised if we got a good run before memorial day. Seems to have been a cooler than usual summer. And i got a feeling we will get lots of wet weather the rest of the month.
I darn well hope we get a good run before Memorial Day!! If we don't a lot of people will be upset.. Guys were fishing today though.. Black Hole had 6 cars parked there and there were 7-8 guys fishing Long bridge .. So must be someone knows more then we do.. By the way Bazooka was only busting stones on the Memorial Day thing..I knew you meant Labor Day....
Now your going to make me drive to Pulaski Griz...I probably will find out about the first runs on the computer this year.. most of my buddies are working this August..which is a good thing in this economy...
