   Late October Fishing report:

Been an interesting week on the River from what I've been told, seen in the station and from my little half hour adventures...  Lower River has been silly all week with steelhead, plus fresh kings, coho's and occasional browns.. Tuesday in particular, had guys here hook 40+ steelies downtown, but it has since went back to being just steady, but great...
Upriver where I have been watching and occasionally fishing, like the altmar bridge, the turn and the barrel has been unusually slow on the float bite side, bottom bouncers with fly line have been doing really well on steelhead and salmon , still salmon everywhere spawning.
My buddy Mark did 24 hook ups on steel yesterday on an up river float, so the bites on if you cover some water, but by my house it has been dead compared to last year.  Strange period we are going through, reminds me of the old days... Steelhead coming into the station all have empty bellies, then about the 10Th one a 100 salmon eggs will fall out of it's stomach...strange.
My advice , cover some water till you find biters.  Had guys mid river crush them, had guys all over really since my last report, lots of steel, there just a touch tricky this year til you find active biters, or a moving pod.   Good luck....been busy, no pics....

I was berated for fishing & asked recently by a PETA type.  You don't keep fish do you?  I responded "No I don't like aquariums. I just treat them like a quick haircut, & take a little of the sides"
