I'm just getting started with a center pin. When you guys use beads, what size hook do you like to use? I bought 8's & 10's. Are they too small?

i use #8 with 10mm bead. #10 should be ok w 8mm bead.

Funeral on thurs. and family coming in from as far away as India means I gotta stay local.

Thanks for the good wishes guys, it was his time, 89 and slowing down. The end came quick and peaceful
for him. Earlier this year he called me to come over and pick some stuff up. Turns out he wanted to give me all
his old fishing gear. original Mitchell 300's and Kasnar reels, fly rods and reels, etc. He hadn't used them in years and figured i mightn't like to have them. The collection filled a browning rod rack I got from a store that went out of business. Most are museum pieces that wont get used, just displayed. But there is one or two
I'm gonna respool and take to the little stream he took me when I was a kid. His passing now makes me the
senior fisherman of the clan.

Sorry for your loss Jim.....Peace and thoughts from all the boys of Altmar bro.

You should use some of his older equipment as center pieces in your house.  Take care bud.

Also be ready to downsize Ice Monkey..Last week I was running 10lb and 6lb flouro leader, switched to 8lb. and  drennan 4lb leader today, also dropped from 10mm to 8 mm beads and dropped to smaller bb's as well tonight..  had a nice evening flurry, 2 on my noodle rod with floats and 3 bottom bouncing small sacs on my other noodle rod..  Hook ups were down today from what I seen, but heard there was some good action from 10am til noon in a couple key spots in Altmar....I had 4 others earlier in the bubbly water, but worked pretty hard for them compared to the last couple of days.....
