It looks like they took the rain out of the forecast. Light north winds both days. We'll see how that pans outs. I am not a huge fan of a north wind. Along with the full moon it could be a challange.

I'M SO CONFUSED!   ;D

I'm tempted to head out tonight at midnight with the boat, but that rarely pans out.  OR, I may head to the lake in the early morning and be on the spot before sun up.  That sounds more realistic.  Get a couple hours in and head home to get some work done around the house, then head back to the lake for the afternoon with the wife.  They're out there somewhere!

I'm pumped for the opener tomorrow. My first ever Oneida lake walleye opener. I've been in the area about 5 years now and just this past fall got into wading for the eyes.

Do the shoreline spots get pretty crowded at midnight on the opener?

I second what DC said.  Wading in the spring rarely gets as crowded as the fall, but it IS opening weekend so everyone and their brother are going to be out on the water somewhere.  By next weekend things should settle down.

times two!!!! I can feel it in my blood, tonight will be a good night.... I can't wait.

I got me a husky jerk, bomber and a challenger lure with a slight glo in the dark lateral line painted on them. I hope it works.. Sounded like a good idea

spent 6-11 out there. one keeper eye and 5 pickeral and a few sunnies. didnt see a whole lot going on on the east end. I think I wouldve been better off just sitting on my dock and casting rapalas then heading out in the boat. didnt see a bass or a drum which was really odd. It was alot colder than I planned,my trolling motor died and the main motor was beeping at me all day. New boat comes in 3 weeks! This was my first opener, last year I didnt start until the end of may. I threw everything I had out there and moved a decent amount.Tried 12-18 ft of water then 20-30. Was surrounded by boats off fenchmans from 530am to 930 and saw about 3 eyes netted. Cant wait to get back out there tomorrow and figure out why I suck

Bright morning & slow catch rates are to be expected.  Several limits taken I know of, 1 in about 1/2 hour.
I was berated for fishing & asked recently by a PETA type.  You don't keep fish do you?  I responded "No I don't like aquariums. I just treat them like a quick haircut, & take a little of the sides"

Got a decent limit on the far west end... drifting in 16 FOW in the channel.  Using a leech on a bare hook.

Went out with my g/f this morning. Started at daybreak and quit at 2:30. Ended up with 15 eyes (14 keepers and 1 short), two yellow and one white perch. We got a few jigging the shallow shoals (9 fow) at daybreak with a purple/black bucktail. The rest came from structure in 21 - 26 fow, mostly on a 5/8 oz. chartreuse sonar. Seemed like the bite died when the sun came out for good. Losing the wind didn't help either. The wind picked back up as we were headed in. Kept 6 eyes from 17 1/2" to 20".
Ran into ol' Hollywood and company out there. Nice to see you again Tom. We were within 50 yards of the last place we met at last fall!  ;)
