Do you guys know of any primitive camping spots that are fairly close to the lake? I am coming up for the weekend and the oldtimers that are coming do not want to go to the state camp ground. Any info would be great .

There are quite a few along Fish Creek, but these are places where people keep their campers all year round (lots of people and kids).  There's some state land off of Cove Road (Rt 13 North to Oneida Street to Cove Road, turn west before the bridge over the canal) in Sylvan Beach.  You can drive up to where Fish Creek hits the Barge Canal and I see people camp there all the time.

what was the water temp , in what depth of water , well bull head just maybe you just weren't on a feeding school , or maybe they are starting to feed up which would now make them a little harder to catch , , we all have good days and bad ones

Hit the lake this evening for the first time since monday.  Went out in the canoe with lil deadeyez and fished from 7:30-10:00.  First hour was non-stop action with the panfish.  We ended up catching 10 BIG sunnys and 2 nice bluegills with my boy catching 90 percent of them! Then we watched a killer sunset and tied on some stickbaits.  As soon as it got dark out we slid into the shallows and it was on!  We landed 3 keepers in 15 minutes and lost two at the boat that we would have had if dad didnt leave net on shore.  ::)  Also missed at least 4 others. All walleye action was in a span of 30 min and all wallys caught outta 2-3 fow.  Heres bobby with 3 nice ones. FISH ON!

Nice job findin em
