Striper are open water predators and love cold water and big forage. The fisheries around here with stripers are lake powell and then a ways a way you have the lower colorado river. You just have to follow the baitfish most of all. In the lakes, find the shad and you will find the stripers.
In the Lower Colorado, they tend to hang out in the deepest holes, usually 30 - 70 feet deep. If you can find the stocked rainbow trout they take you will find the stripers.
Other fish like structure and cover. Stripers are purely pelagic fish that relate to their forage.
