Are crappie really as good as everyone says?

One of the lakes I fish for bass at has a ton of whiteys and crappies... I was looking for whiteys and caught about 25 decent sized crappies. Are they really as good as they say? This place seems to be loaded...

If you're talking taste, yes, they're delicious dipped in milk, rolled in flour with pepper and salt, and pan fried in butter....mmmmm

if you think white perch are good    Around here no one even bothers keeping whiteys seeing as we have tons of crappies and yellow perch.

I was using a drop shot with a gulp minnow pulling one in every cast... I was fishing a deep slope on a point. I could prob sit there and catch 100. I know several places they are holding because I catch them by accident bass fishing. Every time my buddy or I threw one back I was feeling like I shouldn't have been lol

Thats the thing about them, they stack up. If you find one, rest assure there are plenty more in the vicinity.


Next time keep a dozen or two, and filet em up. I like them the same way rebelss does.
