If your jigging, you need a ultralight to light rod that detects the slightest bite, Braid telegraphs the bite better than any other line, I use 6 lb suffix 832, Walleyes are not line shy. Tye your jigs right on the braid. Favorite jigs Nuckleball jigs by fin-tech, Jigs should be as light as you can go and still stay in contact with the bottom. When Anchored you can use a lighter jig, than when drifting or back trolling.Another trick is to use a stinger hook on those very light bite days. A light to med light rod should be used when casting lures or paddle baits. A med. rod should be used to troll bottom bouncers. I never use anything heaver than 10lb suffix 832.If your drags are set right you will not break any line
