we cut it loose but it was really friggin big. I have 73in marked on the side of the boat for tuna and this was at least 3ft longer and the girth was enormous. it could easily have been 400lbs. I should have had my mate jump in next to it for size comparison a 200lb 6ft man next to this fish would have looked like a kid. I have caught quite a few sharks now and the fight is usually quick and sluggish with 130 reels and bent butt rods. This guy had power! he wasn't all that fast but he wouldn't budge and the rod was constantly thumping. 45min later we got him up.
  the only size comp you can see is the last pic. if you know what an owner 10/0 looks like that's whats in the corner of his mouth

World Record porbeagle was 507lbs. I tell ya the one I got was close. Good thing I let him go with my general category tuna permit it doesn't allow harvesting sharks
