Driving back to Buffalo from Albany region in NY on Sunday.
Guy in a truck passed me and had 2 very large coolers in the back with a nice big moose antler rack bungied to them.

Thanks, 44 North. Martha and I just got home from Ashland. Got a 624 pound bull Tuesday morning. It was some excliting! What a relief once they are down.

My guide had a little 50 cc honda motor rig that spun a capstan winch like the old lobster pothaulers. He had lots of rope and it pulled the moose out to the truck some easily. I was very impressed. Guess they cost about $1400.

Congratulations Salty.  Winter always seems easier when you have a freezer full of meat.

Good job Rick. I took Monday off and went up country to watch some of the hunt. 7AM helped a lone hunter from Greenbush get one out. 7 to 800 bull on the Stud Mill Rd. Buddies of mine got a 608 bull yesterday morning. They were sweating it. A lot of green foliage. Stop by and give me the story when your up this way.

Salty, Congratz on a successful moose hunt. Sounds like your guide made short work of the recovery.I heard of hunters using a small generator, pulley wheel and rope hooked to a canoe cut in half.
