Forgot to add... a small cleat installed on the side where it can be reached quickly to raise the anchor. I run the anchor rope through the handle hole on the rear of the yak. Keeping the rope to the rear keeps it out of the way while casting and reeling!😎

Well guys, the last couple weeks have been crazy for the RuttNutt!  ::)  Haven't been able to get out on the yak since the maiden voyage!  :'(  But I used the downtime to search for seat upgrades and anchor system.  I picked up a 3 lb grapple anchor and small cleat. Now I just need to pick up some anchor line and I should be good to go. With any luck, I'll be on the water by Memorial Day!  ;)

Got my Yak out for the first trip of the season yesterday evening after work.
Wind was Terrible.
Couldnt fish my usual way.
I did manage a hslf dozen bass and over a dozen pickerel.
I lost the bigest pickerel of my life last nite next to the yak.
Im guessing it was over 5lb.
White and Chart.Spinnerbait.
I fished 6pm till 9pm.
It got cold quick after the sunset.
Top water bite never happened.
Heres a few pics.
No real slammer fish.
But all healthy and fun to catch.
I wish my Yak buddies Cowdawg and Spider were with me.
Hopefully next trip.

Sounds like a great night under those conditions Chez! Sorry to hear you lost the big slime monster!  ::)

Walmart has anchor rope pretty cheap.  You picked a great weekend to try to get out on the yak, any where public will probably be a zoo with all the other boats on it since it's Memorial Day weekend.   ;D

Yeah, I know Chris!  ::)  But sometimes it just can't be avoided! Maybe I'll get up about 5am and head out.......................then by the time most folks are getting on the water, I'll be paddling in!  ;)

Glad you got out brother! 26" is a big pickerel, was that at the same lake?

Yeah, photobucket is gonna end up pay to play. Most guys I know are pulling all their pictures and putting them on thumbdrives for now. imgur is still free.

Well let's make a plan.
Last year's trip was 8/25/16.
It was so warm we sleep on TOP of our sleeping bags.
I'm not desperate.by no means.
I figured it was a Wash.
But RUtnut asked me if we were going to do it.p
