Biscotasing?
« on: Feb 26, 2004, 06:53 AM »
Anyone fish this lake lately? I used to fish it, but the last time (several years ago) the lake was just about fished out and they had a slot limit on for walleyes. Beautiful water. Sure hope it came back.

Yep, you go north from Sudbury, then 40 miles of dirt road.

From friends I have up that way they say the fishing is great . Good size walleyes . I'll get you some info from friends that fish it but what I remember is that they said it has been good but will confirm that for you .

Thanks Trapperdirk. I sure would appreciate it. The last time we were there, I don't think we (4) caught 10 eyes over 19" in a week. The slot size was from around (I don't remember exactly) 14 1/2" to 18". Those fish you couldn't keep. In the past we never kept fish that were less than 19", not even for shore lunch. And we caught a lot of fish bigger than that. The problem was that most other fisherman were being encouraged to kill the smaller than 14" for shore lunches and to take back. I predicted, at that time, that if it continued, there wouldn't be any walleyes left to reach breeding age.

We fished off of a houseboat from Ritchie's End of Trail Lodge. Nice people, just bad fishing. I sure hope I was wrong.
