I got this old metal fishing pole from my brother's estate. It is spooled with wire line. I can't read the manufacturer's name. Is it an ice fishing setup for pike? Or maybe an old rig for lake trout?

It's an old ice fishing rod.
Here are photos of a few more like it.

The wire line is interesting because this style, at least nowadays, are generally for ice fishing for panfish with a very sensitive spring bobber on the end.

This rod is 4' long and stiff as can be because it's made of steel. I suspect it would be used for ice fishing for toothy critters.

I would attach it to my truck. If I ever got stuck I would winch myself out.
