What is your favoriate species to fish for in the open water season?? What are your favoriate lures to fish for them. Mine would have to be bass. I like to use both topwater and tube jigs.

Smallmouth and Largemouth...can't decide which. But I like them all...
...Stripers are catching up quick though!
Let's see, then there's lake trout, steelhead, brown trout, walleye, Northern pike, chain pickerel, muskies, crappie, yellow perch, white perch, bluegills, channel catfish, bluefish, flounder, sea trout, etc., etc…..
If it bites, I like to catch it!

I started out chasing Northerns then it was Bass now I have an affliction for Walleyes, but I still love slaying a bunch of panfish of any kind long as they are big.

Man FB, that's a tough one as you can see. I would have to say NOrthern Pike. There are many ways to fish for them and the potential for a really big fish is there. When I say big, I mean not big for the species, but BIG!!!! Musky are much harder to catch for the bigger fish. I do love all the species except for Trout; nothing against Trout guys though.

I like to fish for just about anything that swims.Whether its big channel cats on chicken livers or walleyes on Rapalas,Ijust like to fish.My job interferes with my fishing, or I'd be out every day.I might take next week off to try for walleyes and Musky in the river.

Like alot of the guys said, I'll fish anything that fights, but my favorite has to be bass and pike on top-water baits. After spending all winter focusing on a spring bobber for the slightest wiggle, it's nice to have a fish explode on a spook or buzz bait and leave no doubt that you did indeed just have a strike.

I'm a hardcore bass fisherman. THtas right, 17 and I'm hopelessly addicted to bass. While I mainly fish for, and catch largemouths, I love a smallie in the current. Especially HEAVY current, like below a dam. To me, theres nothing quite like it. Pike are pretty fun too.

Mike, ever fish for steelies or Lake Ontario browns or Niagara lakers? If not, then you might change your mind after hooking a few of those
Those little dinky stockies ain't nothin' till you hook into a big 30" steelhead!

For warmwater, my favorite is river smallmouth. I will also spend a day or two just for carp. I like to catch them on fairly light tackle in the river - that's a blast with a 20+ pounder on.
