Some observations from several hours spent snorkle-fishing Oneida...

 * The lake is LOADED with sheephead from 2-10 fow. They hang out at a 45 degree angle with their mouths on bottom chowing down on zebra mussels, then they cruise around like a cow chewing it's cud, cough, and spit out about a golf ball size bunch of zebra mussel shells and start over again. You can see the piles of zebra shells all over.

* Pickeral don't give two craps about crawfish. You can catch them on a hunk of bedsheet and a hook, but they don't go for crawfish.

* There are not a lot of crawfish in Oneida compared to other waters I've snorkled.

* There are a fair amount of 2- 2.5" perch kicking around.

* The sand pike population seems healthy

* If you anchor your boat long enough in the right spot, fish will pile up under it in the shade...like a dock.

*You can find decent perch in 4 fow...even in bright sun at mid-day...

I wasnt asking for a spot just what end is better this year youre right it wouldnt be fishing if i didnt find my own spots. Oh ya you guys can try and catch me to if I somehow  you off but best of luck to you with that I don't think you guys have a deep v that can go 87 mph.  :'(

I know a good friend of mine with a deep v Lund pro, hooked up with a Merc. 250 hp. Give ya a run. Atleast to the Walleye spots. Then, nothing else matters in my opinion. ;D

Good info as always HW. Nice yellow. Have you been seeing many adult perch? Seems like they are less abundant than last year.

Sand pike?
Minnows, i believe they're called log perch. The best walleye bait in the springtime period.
