Wood pallets work wonders pluss there usually free...
I do that when i can dacker. I should have mentioned some of the targets for the protection include Arborvitaes and Lilacs. the latter were grown from samplings and i can no longer get away with pallets. I figured while i had the table saw going i would also make a few for the 7' Arborvitaes at the corner of the house, that i need to be careful of when i rake my roof.
No shrubs for me. One part of gardening I don't like much is trimming shrubs and hedges. Rg
I hear you Bob.I hate pruning shrubs. It always seems like 2-3 weeks after doing it they are needing it again. And the cleanup afterwards.... A few weeks back Donna and I pulled the shrubs from the garden in front of our home's front porch.Long hard back breaking work to dig the roots on 2 of them.I broke a tow strap using the SUV too.Bought a larger one but still had to dig to China before the 2nd one gave up the fight.Afterwards, we planted 6 hearty mums in there. They look great and will never need pruning.Next year the one on the other side of the front of the house gets a make over.I'm thinking hosta!!!
Those are "Hardy" mums. Rg
