And I do cut the tips off my wings Mac. I either use them for chicken stock or fry them up separately till they're crunchy. Sal's Birdland used to do the tips that way. Don't know if they still do.

I do the same thing Bob.
Sometimes I'll collect and save the tips in a plastic bag in my freezer along with backs and other "interesting" parts of the chicken.
I'll collect them until I'm going to make stock or soup and then pull them out of the freezer.
I was only busting about the tips and cutting the wings and drums apart.
It's always easier to do them whole in a smoker or on a grill.
And I know TONS of WNY'ers who leave the tips on to use as a handle for when they are eating them.
Each to their own.
BTW, I prefer Ranch over BC dressing for them.
And believe what or who you want about the origin of the chicken wing.
I heard they unearthed another tomb in Egypt last year with some pickled fish and chicken wings in it.
