New State Record Trout Awaits Conf. from IF&W (Result is in)

I just got off the phone with a very reliable source that tells me a new state record trout was brought to IF&W for verification. The fish was 32" long and 17" in girth. The fish weighed 13 1/4 pounds several hours after being caught on a certified scale. It is either a splake or a brook trout. Either way it crushes the previous record for either species. The fish was caught somewhere in Central Maine is all I know at this point. I understand there are pictures coming soon. I will post updates as I find out more.

Brook Trout = 9#

Splake = 10# 3oz

My guess is its a splake. I'll be anxiously waiting for more info.

I heard of a monster caught the other day that came out of Wyman Lake. Wonder if this is the fish?  ::) ::) 13 to 14 lbs. Brook trout or splake they thought. Have to wait and see.  8) 8) 8)

I can add some unofficial info.   It is reported to have come out of Lake George.  The lucky angler is reported to also own the state record rainbow.  The fish has a clipped left ventral fin.  At this point, the brookie possibility has pretty much been ruled out.  Outside possibility it could be a togue.  The most likely possibility is splake.  The left ventral fin clip would make it a splake stocked in 1998.  The fish is frozen solid and will need to thaw before the ID is finalized.

Still no news on this myth fish been checking out all kinds of sites and this seems to be the only one with any info. Really want to see a pic anybody heard any new news about it?
